Dr. Ralf Stegner, State Parliament Member, State Chairman of the Schleswig-Holstein SPD, and a member of the SPD National Executive visited the Palestinian Territories. He took part in an Al-Mubadara Workshop and met high-ranked politicians.
November
Dr. Rolf Muetzenich, Member of the German Parliament (Bundestag) met important partners of the FES Jerusalem during his visit to the Palestinian Territories.
September
In cooperation with the Palestine Trade Center, the FES organized seminars on the impact of the Gaza-blockade.
August
The head of the International Department of the Federation of German Trade Unions (DGB), Dr. Wolfgang Lutterbach, pays a visit to the FES East Jerusalem to get informed about the worker´s life in the Palestinian territories and to evaluate potential fields of cooperation between the DGB and Palestinian Trade Unions.
Within the scope of an educational journey a delegation of young people from Berlin visited the FES to learn about the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the special role of Jerusalem.

FES organizes in cooperation with the Forum of Palestinian Journalists a seminar on the media discourse.
June
A Palestinian delegation formed out of workshop participants were granted a trip to the capital of the most northern German federal state, Kiel in Schleswig-Holstein. The delegates are at home engaged in women´s affairs and committed to change the Palestinian women´s role in society.

Conference about the impact on human rights of the Israeli boycott of Gaza.
Together with its partner, the National Society for Democracy and Law (NSDL) the FES organized a conference on April 24 at Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip.

The SPD Secretary-General visited the Palestinian Territories in order to discuss the role of political parties as trailblazers for democracy and peace in the Middle East.

Six participants of the Lead22 training course held in the summer of 2007 took part in an FES program involving a visit to Berlin.

Workshop - Party development in Jericho
Conducted by the german MdPs Christian Lange and Siegmund Ehrmann a party-development training course for young Palestinian people in positions of responsibility took place in Jericho University.

Women in Fatah.
The FES has supported the involvement of women in the process of reforming Fatah since 2007, through various programs. The goal is to develop organizational structures for women within Fatah, and in that way to offer them an area in which they can contribute actively to the re-structuring process.

Federal German Minister Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul during her visit in the Palestinian Territories, February 25-28 2008. During talks with the representatives of civil-society partner organisations of the FES, the minister discussed conditions of a successfull development in the Palestinian Territories.
